Broughty Ferry by Dundee on the St Andrews coast.

Broughty Ferry is a picturesque former fishing village on Scotland’s east coast. It sits by Dundee (City of Discovery) on the shores of the river Tay just north of St Andrews and is an ideal base for touring Scotland.

We are situated on the doorstep of the spectacular Scottish Highlands, where you can experience a vast area of unspoilt countryside and stunning mountain scenery.

Our location is only about an hour’s drive to the delights of the historic towns of Edinburgh, Scotlands capital city and Stirling which is steeped in Scottish history.

Even closer is the ancient town of St. Andrews, the home of golf and Scotland’s oldest university with its impressive ruined castle and cathedral among other medieval buildings.

Talking of Golf we are surrounded by numerous Golf Courses. In addition to the “Old Course” at St. Andrews we are next to the Championship course at Carnoustie and an easy drive from the Gleneagles Golf Resort (host of the 2014 Ryder Cup). If you fancy a round we can even supply the clubs.

There is an abundance of castles worth visiting in our area including the Queen’s Highland home at Balmoral, the Queen Mother’s childhood home at Glamis and the ancient Dunnottar situated in a stunning coastal setting. Add to that ancient royal palaces, abbeys and beautifully preserved villages and you will see how historic this area is.

Why not visit one ,or more, of the many whisky distilleries in our area from the oldest to the smallest in Scotland. We find this makes for a very happy days outing.
